EU Grant Disbursements Greatly Speed UpThe effective work of the institutional system has greatly accelerated the disbursement of EU development grants, and substantially increased EU funds, MTI was told by Zoltán Petykó, President of the National Development Agency (NDA). Novel steps for the construction of the EU Laser Centre at SzegedThe kick-off conference for the preparation of the project to realise the ELI laser research centre started with the inaugural of Ágnes Molnár, State Secretary for Development Policy Co-ordination of the Ministry for National Development on 10 November 2011 at Szeged. “Those countries will be rich which spend much on research. Those will be rich which courageously put their trust in the most exciting investment fund: human creativity”, the Secretary of State emphasised. NDA to Introduce Electronic Monitoring of Public Procurement ProcessesThe National Development Agency is continuously working to develop the tendering system, in particular to speed up procedural processes and to create applicant-friendly operation that places clients in a central position. As the next step of this activity the NDA introduces a development for the paperless supervision and monitoring of the public procurement process as of 23 December 2011. Faster contracting and disbursement process in the utilisation of EU fundsMinister for National Development Tamás Fellegi opened the international Conference of Competitiveness Operational Programmes, hosted for the seventh year by the National Development Agency, Magyar Gazdaságfejlesztési Központ Zrt. and the European Commission, on 27 October 2011. In his speech, he spoke of the great progress that has been made both in the area of the regularity of EU funds allocation and the speed of disbursements since the election of the new government. In the near future, the Government will set out in a decree the full utilisation of the total assistance budget, as well as the additional tasks to be carried out for the sake of accelerating the system.
